Zealand Region
Challenge
The Zealand region in Denmark had three different RIS/PACS solutions. In order to create inter-operability and achieve standardized information management, the region had to gather the large volumes of information and images in one system, with regional patient overview.
What we did
Through the CSAM Infobroker solution the three RIS/PACS solutions in the region were integrated, creating a common platform where patient information is gathered. To achieve a patient overview, we added a central image registry consisting of CSAM XDS and third party solutions. Further, we integrated more non-radiology imaging systems into the solution, for example Olympus Endobase.
Result
The Zealand region now has a platform for patient information and images which can easily be accessed by the physicians. The uniform approach to all images, both regionally and inter-regionally, has resulted in time and resource savings within the different disciplines.
The solution has also ensured data security and eliminated the need for exchanging images in paper format between departments.
