Challenge
In recent years, multimedia has become an important part of the patients’ medical records. The Hospital District of Southwest Finland had a need for an imaging solution outside of radiology that could be integrated to its hospital IT systems. The project target was to make the imaging operations more efficient.
What we did
CSAM provided CSAM MediMaker as a regional imaging solution, covering hospitals and health care centers in the city of Turku and 29 municipalities. CSAM MediMaker is used in almost every discipline, tightly integrated to the hospitals’ different EPR systems. The hospital district also uses the CSAM MediMaker component eForm for creating web-based forms which are available anywhere in the hospital district. CSAM eConsultation is used for remote consultation in Opthalmology.
Result
CSAM MediMaker currently has over 7000 users. The customer has received a system in which all patient data goes to the patient’s continuous patient record and the pictures, as well as the reports, are a seamless part of it. The handling of the patient data has been automatized and virtualized. As a result, the daily operations have become more efficient and healthcare personnel now have more time to care. In addition, the system has become more user friendly.
