OncoPlan

Modern cancer care transcends the boundaries between clinical disciplines thus enabling the best care, but at the same time increasing the amount of information and need of coordination. oncoPlan is a process based tool designed to support this multidisciplinary treatment. Its aim is to provide clinicians an outline of the patient’s planned and actual events in a matter of seconds as well as to facilitate the implementation of the latest evidence based medicine.

Key Features
The backbone of the oncoPlan solution is flow sheets constituting a library of treatment templates. Each of these defines a patient flow for a specific oncologic medical condition and is founded on the latest evidence based medicine and contains all relevant clinical information. Thus all treatment branches along with their start conditions and containing events (they be chemotherapy, surgery, radiation or evaluation) are defined. In addition key performance indicators (KPI’s), such as tumor size, constitute a part of the template. This is also the case for adverse events (AE’s).

As the treatment progresses all necessary information is gathered and made available. Relevant parameters, such as key performance indicators and adverse events, are displayed using a graphical layout, thus enabling the physician to make an assessment of both the clinical and logistic progress of the patient.
Integration is a key point as oncoPlan is tightly integrated with surrounding systems that are used within the field of oncology; such as system for chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and order/entry. When clicking on a chemotherapy event with the intent of ordering, the chemotherapy source system is brought up front with pre-filled patient, date and course definition. oncoPlan therefore acts as the physician’s command center enabling him to reach all relevant oncologic information.
